PICS

OVERALL –leave as-is and drive the wheels off it, or get crazy and restore to your desire. If you want to get crazy, it's a valuable car, and totally worth putting more time and money into. And it's all totally doable. I like working on stuff, but have only enough space and time for 1 car at a time. And since a '57 Chevy (at least not a wagon) isn't really my bag, I'd rather get something else.

  • Running driving ’57 Bel Air 2 door hardtop\Sport Coupe (originally a v8 car), w/ clean  title and VIN tag. What else can I say.
  • Mechanically, drive anywhere: disk brakes, good tires, newer 350/350. Been together and driven since ~2000 (to my knowledge). I don't know how many miles it's been driven since that time, but I know it's been on some trips and driven with some regularity, which is how I've been driving it.
  • Motor, trans, front suspension, exhaust, brakes & lines, tires wheels are all newer. Including front disk brakes (not power).
  • Body is pretty decent, and much of the Coral paint is original, but it is cracked etc.
  • All the stainless trim that's on the car is nice.
  • The chrome trim is overall in very presentable condition with generally only minor pitting and blemishes.
  • Interior is complete (including stainless trim, etc.). Upholstery is rough.
  • Exterior trim is missing several pieces, but has some of the big items included (see pics&descriptions)
  • Undercarriage- some of it is yucky. Floors and trunk have been patched, but not pretty. It’s solid from up top, but underneath looks terrible in spots.
  • Front clip has already been done w/ sheetmetal, brakes, suspension, etc.

MOTOR New and installed in 2000.  350 ci crate motor (87-95 style)

  • New Carter 625 carb (summit)
  • Stellings & Hellings air cleaner
  • Lokar throttle and shift cable setup
  • Carter Fuel pump
  • Early glass fuel filter+hardlines
  • Chrome timing chain cover
  • Weiand Action + aluminum intake
  • Weiand cast iron short water pump
  • 200 amp chrome alternator
  • Chrome timing tab
  • Pulleys + fan from ’64 impala
  • Mallory chrome coil+bracket
  • Finned cast aluminum Moon Valve covers
  • Coolant hoses

TRANS- Rebuilt TH350 trans, torque converter and Hurst shift kit

EXHAUST-  Headers. Newer true duals, 2" w/  cherry bombs, and chrome tips.

FRONT SUSP- newer built in ~2000 when motor was installed.

  • 2” Classic dropped front spindles
  • Fr. Wheel seals+bearings
  • R&L calipers, rotors, etc
  • Rebuild kit+ sway bar. Newer shocks and coils.

REAR AXLE & SUSPENSION

  • both look original. Doesn't appear to be a posi.
  • Not sure what the gearing is but motor turns about 2500 RPM at ~60MPH.

INTERIOR & TRIM

  • Basically complete w/ original stainless, dash, window crank arms, levers, switches, etc.
  • newer Temp and fuel gauges, replaced w/ autometer. WORKING
  • Speedo works smoothly but reads fast
  • Turnsignals, radio (not stock), lights (including hi/lo beam), horn, gauges Dome light, oil pressure, charging lights all work
  • NO Heater b/c there’s no blower motor. But the original heater core and duct work is there.
  • NO wipers b/c there’ isn’t a motor or wiper arms
  • Front seats are unknown and rough, but vintage.
  • New moon steering wheel and horns. Working.
  • Backseat original, but has wear & tear.
  • Panels are new replacements, just covered in black carpet. Bare kick panels are included.
  • Headliner & visors are original and in OK shape for age.

EXTERIOR & TRIM

  • INCLUDED (Included but not pictured)-
    • stainless spears for rear fender
    • nice set of rear quarter inserts w/silver Belair logos
    • Drivers side rear lower stainless quarter strip (long one)
    • Pretty nice original grill center piece
  • NOT PRESENT (if you want all the pieces)
    • Complete rear glass trim
    • 4 Vertical rear fin pieces
    • 9 of the 10 stainless side strips
    • sheetmetal grill insert
  • Trunk and hood are shaved. Trunk also has electronic popper.
  • Existing grill is just some homemade thing using alum flatstock.

BODY

  • Hood- good. Shaved emblem mounts. Pretty much ready for paint
  • Trunk lid- pretty much ready for paint
  • Front fenders- good, pretty much ready for paint.
  • Pass Door- nice original, recently replaced (hence the black paint)
  • Drivers door- original to car. Repairable and usable, but it’s got rust at lower seam
  • Rear fenders- pretty nice. Previous rust repairs at bottom 6” in front of the wheel well. Otherwise, they look pretty nice to me.
  • Rockers/Inner- terrible repair: just bent sheetmetal
  • Rockers/outer-replaced w/ what looks like the aftermarket replacement. Install is just OK (but that's mainly b/c of the crappy inner rockers and the manner in which the floors were patched.
  • Floors- Fully patched, BUT over top of much of the crappy original floors. So it’s solid and decent looking from up top, but looks like crap underneath.
  • Trunk- Fully patched, including spare tire well. BUT over top of much of the crappy original floors. So it’s solid and decent looking from up top, but looks like crap underneath.
  • Body mounts- some of the body mounts and subrails are rough, but mostly on the ends outside of the frame rails, and the ones at the rear of the passenger compartment are the worst.
  • Looks like newer fuel tank.

FRAME- original welded seam frame. Has a couple of rough spots near ends. And one section that was plated over where it got a little thin. Definitely runnable, but definitely not perfect.

GLASS -

  • All original and all there. The drivers side door glass is cracked, but it's a flat piece so, relatively cheap and easy.
  • 1 or 2 small chips in windshield
  • Minor delaminating bubbles on some of the edges (if that bothers you).
  • All windows roll up and down well or in or out just fine.
  • needs all weatherstripping
